Myers Power Products Transfers and Adds Product Lines As Part of Long-Term Strategy

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, JULY 15, 2003 -  As part of a long-term strategy for development and growth, Myers Power Products, Inc. has transferred the Gibbons Enclosure, NuArt Lighting and Holcor Specialized Lighting product lines to U.S. Traffic Corporation, based in Santa Fe Springs, California. In addition, the PowerBack™ line of UPS products has been licensed to U.S. Traffic Corporation, which will assume the product line after a specified period. These steps were the result of the recent acquisition of U.S. Traffic Corporation by the Quixote Corporation, located in Chicago, Illinois.

Myers Power Products, Inc. has also acquired all assets of Ryco Electrical Products, a manufacturer of electrical switching gear with facilities in Pomona, California. This transaction is representative of Myers' continuing expansion and development of emergency lighting inverters, frequency converters, electrical service pedestals, and other power-related products manufactured in California and in its corporate headquarters, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, MAY 28, 2003 – Myers/Abacus, a new brand formed by the acquisition of Abacus Controls, Inc., has relocated to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  Moving to the Myers Power Products, Inc. eastern facility, Myers/Abacus now joins the Myers Power Products (formerly Myers/CPI) and Best-Lites brands in designing and manufacturing a broad range of power inverter, emergency lighting inverters, and advanced power and UPS systems.

Myers Power Products, Inc. Acquires and Relocates Abacus Controls To Broaden Reach In Power-Related Markets

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, February 17, 2003 -  Myers Power Products, Inc. has relocated Abacus Controls Inc., which was acquired in August of 2002. Abacus Controls Inc. designs and manufactures advanced power supply products including frequency converters, DC/AC static inverters, and cathodic protection rectifiers, in addition to custom power supplies for military applications. Originally based in Somerville, New Jersey, the company is now located at the Myers/CPI division facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

According to Bruce Steigerwald, General Manager for Myers/CPI, "Bringing together the Abacus design and engineering staff with our Myers/CPI team is a big plus. Our product line will expand to service a greater number of power-related markets. Our new CP1500 rectifier is a perfect example." The Myers/Abacus CP1500 Rectifier is an air-cooled cathodic protection rectifier providing corrosion protection for different types of pipeline distribution systems.

Myers PowerBack™ Unveils PBM-ITS Series – A New Advanced UPS For Traffic Applications

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, February 17, 2003 – Myers PowerBack™, a division of Myers Power Products, Inc., has unveiled its new PBM-ITS Series Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for traffic applications. As part of a complete battery backup system for traffic signal intersections, this unit provides greater features and versatility including advanced logging/programming capability, real-time status reporting, fully programmable dry contacts, and the ability to upgrade the power output in the field. According to Dave Rosen, Executive Vice President of Myers Power Products, "With this unit, traffic engineers will have more programming options and more incoming, real-time data whether they are in the field or working from a central office. The PBM-ITS Series truly sets a new benchmark for UPS in traffic applications." The PBM-ITS Series will operate traffic signals in either normal or "flash" mode for up to 24-hours, depending on the traffic signal load and configuration of batteries. Complete systems are available for installation into NEMA, 170/332, Myers MEUG, or custom designed cabinets. he Myers PowerBack UPS is currently in use in many cities throughout the United States.
