This position is based at our Ontario, CA manufacturing plant.


Responsibilities

  • Report daily to Materials Manager
  • Work closely with engineering and production on work order releases and revisions
  • Ensure all work orders are released in a timely manner
  • Check inventory accuracy to avoid delays in production
  • Perform weekly usage monitoring of production and manufacturing data base counts
  • Conduct daily cycle counts
  • Run and monitor the following reports:
    • Booking
    • REC Location
    • Engineering Hold
    • New Make 
    • Negative 
    • Work Orders with Zero Balance Due 
    • Planned Order 
    • Action Message 
    • Work Order by Order 
  • Coordinate with receiving and stockroom to allocate product correctly and cross check against bill of materials
  • Perform daily data entry
  • Attend weekly planning meetings
  • Monitor backlogs for past due orders or expedited shipping
  • Coordinate with shipping to monitor ATS (available to ship) location
    Carry out month-end closing to clear all transactions
    Assist with mid-year and year-end audits as assigned
  • File as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Perform all duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management

The Planner is responsible for understanding and working towards company goals and objectives as well as actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Degree or planning certification (APICS or CPIM) strongly preferred
  • Three years of planning experience
  • Proficiency in MRP as well as Outlook, Excel, and other MS Office applications
  • Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers and fractions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and complete routine reports
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to individuals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal and diagrammatic form
  • Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
