This position is based at our North Canton, Ohio location.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the activities of assigned exempt and non-exempt direct reports
- Negotiate pricing agreements iwth major component suppliers
- Create and implement department policies and standards
- Provide pricing support for sales quotes, as required
- Prepare materials schedules in coordination with all operations departments
- Oversee materials reduction and return programs
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform all duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management.
The Buyer is responsible for understanding and working towards company goals and objectives as well as actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience in engineering or manufacturing operations preferred
- Five or more years of purchasing experience
- Excellent management skills
- Proven negotiation skills
- Excellent leadership capabilities
- Engineering background is helpful/preferred
